These datasets are an output of KIP INCA and refer to map datasets and supply and use tables (SUTs) for 8 ecosystem services. The maps depict the spatial information that is provi...
Description
Action 5 of the EU Biodiversity Strategy requires the Member States, with the assistance of the European Commission, to map and assess ecosystems and their services. As a response, the Joint Research Centre developed a series of maps of ecosystem services. This data collection is made available here.
The data are organised in GIS raster and vector datasets

List of indicators included in the dataset: 1) River, Lakes and Freshwater ecosystem extent; 2) Domestic waste emissions to the environment; 3) Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Bioche...
These datasets are an output of KIP INCA and refer to map datasets for 7 ecosystem services. The maps depict the spatial information that is provided by the ecosystem service...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. The dataset presents the contribution of ecosystems to timber provision by multiplying the net annual increment of timber with a ratio that ...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. On site soil erosion from rainfall is regarded as one of the major causes of environmental degradation. However, healthy ecosystems can also ...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. Global climate regulation as an ecosystem service includes the sequestration of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere by ecosystems. This da...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. It describes the ecosystem service of crop pollination. Pollination is a key ecosystem service as many crops but in particular, fruits and ve...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. All ecosystems but in particular forests, shrubland, grasslands and wetlands reduce runoff by retaining water in the soil and aquifers and s...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. It describes the use of outdoor recreation on a daily basis (requiring short distance movement to reach a recreational area). Outdoor recrea...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. The dataset presents the contribution of ecosystems to crop provision by multiplying the yield in tonne/ha with the ecosystem contribution r...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. Habitat and species maintenance as ecosystem service is defined as the presence of suitable ecological condition -usually habitats- and of sp...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. The tables report ecosystem service actual flow in physical and monetary terms. Physical units varies according to the ES, the monetary unit ...
A spatially explicit cross-cutting indicator that quantifies the cumulative and relative pressure by IAS on terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems, by means of a unitless figure rel...
This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. The water purification service refers to the removal of pollutants from water that is mediated by microorganisms, algae and plants and other ...

This dataset contains the relevant products for the following indicators: Acidification, Sea surface temperature, Sea level anomaly, Seawater salinity, Chemicals load to sea, Nutri...
This dataset contains the relevant data sets for the following indicators: Acidification, eutrophication, dry matter productivity (DMP), effective rainfall, evapotranspiration, for...
WRI is a composite indicator developed to assess the capacity of the landscape to regulate and retain water passing through it. This indicator shows where there could be a deficit ...
NO2 is used as indicator substance for mapping air quality regulation by urban green space. Removal of NO2 by urban green space is calculated based on NO2 concentrations and depos...
Soil erosion control is a key ecosystem service delivered by terrestrial ecosystems, mainly through vegetation cover. Two indicators are used to quantify capacity and use of the se...

The report "Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services: Trends in ecosystems and ecosystem services in the European Union between 2000 and 2010" contains a series of m...
Net Ecosystem Productivity (NEP) may act as a surrogate for many ecosystem services given the crucial role of photosynthesis for many, if not all, ecosystem services. This indicato...
Forest carbon potential is an indicator which is developed to assess relative changes in carbon stock and flows and to compute its variation between two time periods, in relation t...
The habitat quality indicator is based on the modelled species distribution of common birds. Data on bird species occurrences were obtained from the EBCC Atlas of European Breeding...
Pollination is a key ecosystem service as many crops but in particular, fruits and vegetables are partially dependent on pollinating insects to produce food for human consumption. ...
