Ecosystem services accounts: maps for 7 ecosystem services produced in KIP INCA 2018 updates 

Collection: MAES : Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services 

Description

These datasets are an output of KIP INCA and refer to map datasets for 7 ecosystem services.

The maps depict the spatial information that is provided by the ecosystem service accounts for the following ecosystem services: (a) Provisioning: Crop Provision and Timber Provision, (b) Regulating and Maintenance: Carbon Sequestration, Crop Pollination, Flood Control, Soil Retention and Species Maintenance.

The spatial information depicted on the maps is related to certain accounting modules such as: Use of the ecosystem service in physical and monetary terms (for all 7 ecosystem services), Potential supply (for Crop pollination, Flood control, Soil Retention and Species Maintenance), Demand (for Crop pollination, Flood control and Soil Retention) and Mismatch (for Crop pollination, Flood control, Soil Retention and Species Maintenance) accounting module.

The maps were produced for the following accounting periods: 2000, 2006, 2012, and 2018 and cover the EU-27 member states.
