Raw data for polymerization and intermediate products are collected by several producers in Europe; the average is calculated by the consultant based on the production capacity of the companies. The LCI result is calculated with background data from the Boustead database.

Technical Purpose: PC may be processed by all of the usual injection moulding and extrusion techniques to produce components that exhibit good

dimensional stability. It may also be sterilised by most standard techniques and so finds applications in the medical field. Typical applications are: Housings for domestic

appliances, office equipment, electrical systems, switches and housings, compact discs and optical storage, medical devices, food container and packaging, glazing and

lighting applications and safety glasses
