Title: Burnt area in the Global Wildfire Information System (version 2-3-1)


This dataset series refers to the information on burnt area provided by the Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS). ▷How to cite: see below◁  

Burnt area information is derived after the MODIS burnt area product which provides burning and quality information on a per-pixel basis. This dataset is not near real time, and fire events require more than one month be available (please see temporal granularity of the source product ). Initial and final dates of the fires are subject to an uncertainty of few days.
