Description
This dataset is derived from the state-of-the-art global daily streamflow reanalysis GloFAS Reanalysis v3.0 at 0.1° resolution. River floods occurred in all major world rivers in 1980-2018 are selected using a peak over threshold routine. The set of flood peaks is then analyzed to identify the seasonality of floods, including the start, peak and end of the flood events, assuming the 1 in 2 year event as flood threshold.

Data access
The dataset includes statistics on the seasonality of floods, as simulated by the GloFAS Reanalysis v3.0 for 1980-2018. Available data include: 1) monthly percent occurrence of the start, peak and end of flood events; 2) month with the largest percent occurrence of flood start, peak and end; 3) mean day of the year of the start, peak and end of floods. The dataset is complemented with raster maps of the flow drainage direction (ldd.nc) and of the upstream area of each grid cell (upArea.nc)
