In the late evening 28 July 2019, a wildfire broke out in the northern-eastern part of the Sardinia island, in the surrounding area of Siniscola town. There have been several fires in the area, but the most damaging was the one affecting a large part of Mediterranean scrub and several agriculture areas. According to the regional authority, six helicopters and two Canadair were involved to control the fire. Several houses and farms were evacuated in advance. The fire caused damage to the farms and the death of several animals.
