Description
Duration in days of a warm spell event in any given day as defined by the temperature anomalies method. Based on ERA5 data. Spatial resolution: 0.25 decimal degrees. Important remark: in common language, extreme temperature events are usually referred to as Heat Waves and Cold Waves. However, in this document, we use Warm Spells and Cold Spells. This is because, unlike the seasonal connotations of "heat waves" and "cold waves," our indicators track these events throughout all seasons.
