Activation reason:
As of 30 March 2023 a flood due to melted snow and ice, as well as precipitation has been observed in the Daugava river valley, Latvia.
It is forecasted that in the upcoming days due to the precipitation water level in the Daugava river and its tributaries will keep rising flooding larger areas. The evacuation of the area in proximity to the to the river is foreseen.
Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide the flood extent with daily update until the end of the event and a final damage assessment.
