River Katonga in Western Uganda Flooded on the morning of Thursday 11th May 2023 and submerged the major trans-national road
(0.069460, 31.749563) connecting the central and northern part of the country to the western and south-western parts of the country as
well as to Rwanda, Burundi and DR Congo. By close of the day, the bridge had been washed away. As efforts are ongoing to assess the
extent and impact plus estimated road rehabilitation time, the flood map is essential in the process.
