EFAS flood reporting points

QR code

This data set contains key locations at which the EFAS flood forecast shows a high probability of exceeding the EFAS 2-/5-year return period. For those locations a wide-range of additional hydro-meteorological information are provided.

Additional hydro-meteorological information at the key locations include:

- various hydrographs, showing the probabilistic forecast for the next 15 days (based on ECMWF-ENS and COSMO-LEPS)

- meteorological parameters, such as upstream rainfall and snowmelt as well as average temperature

- calendar matrices showing the evolution of forecasts in relation to the exceedance of critical thresholds (EFAS 2-,5- and 20-year return period).

This information is part of the operational suit of EFAS (www.efas.eu) and intends to provide EFAS partners with in-depth information at relevant key locations along affected European rivers to facilitate decision making. This information also provides a good indication on the reliability of the meteorological and hydrological forecast.

The update frequency of this data set is twice a day (00:00 and 12:00 UTC); and the spatial coverage is the extended geographic Europe.
