Activation reason:
TC BATSIRAI is currently an Intense Tropical Cyclone equivalent to a Category 3 Atlantic hurricane located around 340 km of northwest of Reunion island. The system is expected to make landfall on Saturday over east coasts of Madagascar, potentially as an Intense Tropical Cyclone (Category 3 Atlantic hurricane). The strongest winds are most probable upon landfall, on Saturday; beyond this TC BATSIRAI is expected to cause on top of the storm surge, flash flooding, followed by river flooding. TC BATSIRAI is expected to have a high humanitarian impact.
