Open ACC Database

QR code

Open Database of car-following experiments involving vehicles with Adaptive Cruise Control systems (ACC).

The objective of the OpenACC Database is to provide data about ACC behavior to the whole scientific community in order to achieve a better understanding of the properties of ACC vehicles and to understand how their widespread may influence traffic dynamics in order to anticipate possible problems related to it. As new experimental data will be made available they will be included in OpenACC. External actors willing to include their ACC data can contact the OpenACC contact point.

The database contains vehicle trajectories from different car-following experiments. Most of them refer to ACC driving, however for comparison purposes there are a few trajectories which also refer to manual driving.

If you want to receive a notification every time that OpenACC is updated, you are invited to send a message to JRC-SMART-MOBILITY@ec.europa.eu. The message should indicate in the subject "Request of updates notification" and in the body the following information: name, surname, affiliation and the email address where the notification shall be sent

Data access

Plain text

Plain text is the data (e.g. file contents) that represent only characters of readable material but not its graphical representation nor other objects. It may also include a limited number of characters that control simple arrangement of text, such as line breaks or tabulation characters. Plain text is different from formatted text, where style information is included, and from ‘binary files’ in which some portions must be interpreted as binary objects (encoded integers, real numbers, images, etc.).

Downloadable file

A downloadable file for the dataset.
