The 6-month Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI-6) is an indicator used to monitor meteorological drought based on precipitation anomalies over 6-month accumulation periods. SPI-6 serves as a proxy for medium-term impacts, such as reduced stream flow and reservoir storage. The input data for calculating the SPI-6 is E-OBS (ECA&D (European Climate Assessment & Dataset) observational dataset), version 30.0e.
