On 21 August 2023 at 05:59 UTC two wildfires started in a forest area near Prodromos village (Sterea Ellada Region) and in the afternoon (15:10 UTC) in a forest area near Kyriaki village. Residents of the villages Prodromos, Paralia Sarandi, Karioti, Tarsos, Panagia Kalamiotissa and Agios Athanasios were ordered to evacuate. The wildfires have remained off since the 28 August 2023. The CEMS Risk and Recovery service was activated in order to provide a post-wildfire damage assessment over the area.
