Event time (UTC): 2020-02-08 07:00:00
Event type: Wildfire (Forest fire)
Activation reason:
Started several days ago, a forest fire is still on going in the Southern part of Corsica (Quenza surroundings). The burnt area is already over 2000 ha and the fire is not under control. New fires are starting in the Northern part (especially at Olmeta di Tuda). Complicating the firemen actions, on-going strong winds are forecasted to continue for the coming days over Corsica. An up-to-date assessment of the situation is needed to manage the in-field operations.
