Flood in Saarland region, Germany (2024-01-02)

Due to the currently prevailing flood situation in Germany, a 20 to 50-year flood is expected for the federal state of Saarland. The 1st wave will peak between 02.01.2024 around 18:00 and 03.01.2024 06:00, the 2nd wave is expected to peak in the night from 03.01.2024 to 04.01.2024. Specifically, this concerns the area of the river "Prims". Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide initial roughestimation, flood extent and damage assessment of the flood event for the emergency mapping.
