Several forest fires have broken out across northern Mexico, resulting in population displacement and damage. Some states such as Coahuila and Nuevo León (north-eastern Mexico) have been seriously affected. National authorities report that as of 24 March, up to 61 forest fires are active across 20 States of Mexico and approximately 14,160 hectares of land have burned.
