Activation reason:
On 05/08/2022 a fire caused by a storm occurred in the industrial zone of Matanzas, in Cuba's main oil terminal. The fire started affecting a first tank with 25,000 cubic meters of crude oil in the local refinery. After this first phase, two further tanks of approximately 50,000 cubic meters caught fire causing explosions. Sixteen firefighters were missing when the first tank collapsed and one body was recovered.
