Activation reason:
Afghanistan‘s National Disaster management Agency (ANDMA) reports flooding has affected Eastern provinces of the country after heavy rainfall since 25 August 2020. At least 35 people have died in the floods in Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir, Wardak, Logar, Paktika, Paktia, Nuristan and Nangarhar provinces. Areas of Parwan district have been particularly affected after flash floods struck overnight, between 25 and 26 August. ANDMA reported at least 30 fatalities in the province, with 20 injured and 300 homes destroyed or severely damaged.
