Activation date: 2023-02-23
Event type: Mass movement
Activation reason:
The Italian National Department of Civil Protection has activated the Copernicus Emergency Management Service – Risk and Recovery Mapping FLEX, relating to the damage caused by a deep cyclone that hit Ischia, Italy, on 25-26 November 2022.The first set of results that is available now for dowload (see below) is about the damage assessment and landslide mapping products:Updated reference mapping, scale 1:5,000 for the entire island of Ischia (available in the geodatabase)Delineation of the landslides that affected the area during the event, scale 1:5,000 (available in the geodatabase)Detailed damage assessment, scale 1:5,000 (available in the geodatabase)Estimation of the volume of the landslides ( available in the raster dataset)3D simulation video of the landslide (the .mp4 file is split into two zip archives; to extract it, you need to have all the split files in the same directory and then extract the contents of the first archive file. The extraction process will automatically detect the other split files and combine them to reconstruct the original compressed file)The report and other additional files will be delivered at the end of the activation, which is estimated to be around 20 March 2023. The second and final delivery will consist of the products related to risk assessment, specifically:Estimation of economic consequences of the landslides on the damaged assetsLandslide hazard, exposure, vulnerability, and risk assessment for the entire Ischia IslandIschia Island assets mapPotential economic loss due to landslide riskGround motion detectionCoastal erosion hazard analysis
