Description
The indicator provides robust forecasts of the occurrence of on unusual dry or wet precipitation conditions over the next 6 months. It is computed based on the forecasted Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI-6), derived from the long-range (i.e. seasonal) forecast system (SEAS5) of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). This indicator is calculated using a reference period between the year 1981 and 2010. It has a spatial resolution of 1 decimal degree and a temporal resolution of 1 month.
