The CEMS Risk and Recovery Standard has been activated by the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations - European Emergency Response Coordination Centre (DG-ECHO ERCC), on behalf the ECHO field/Cameroon, following the flood occurred in Cameroon Far North Region around the 15th of September 2020.The aim of the activation was to localize the areas most impacted by the inundations; this objective has been achieved via the generation of a series of P04 Flood delineation standard products, which helped extracting the flooded surfaces in the AOI.The processing steps were the following:Maping the reference hydrology using Sentinel-2 data acquired the 12th of JuneMaping the post-event hydrology from Sentinel-1 data acquired the 21st of SeptemberErase reference hydrology from crisis hydrology to keep only the flooded areasManual refinement of the resultStatistical validationWater depth computationThe next image offers an example of the results obtained.
