Description
Activation time (UTC): 2020-11-03 01:56:00
Event time (UTC): 2020-11-02 12:00:00
Event type: Storm (Tropical cyclone, hurricane, typhoon)
Activation reason:
From 10 August to 20 August several consecutive tropical waves produced floods in more than ten indigenous communities in the RACCN (North Caribbean Region). The latest public advice from NOAA-NHC indicates that the Hurricane ETA-20 is Category 4 and is expected to bring strong winds, storm surge, and rains in Nicaragua.
World Food Programme triggered the COPERNICUS EMS Rapid Mapping Service to receive information on the affected areas and to estimate potential food insecurity in the area impacted from the Hurricane ETA.
