Activation reason:
On 15/06/2022, several forest fires occurred due to an electrical storm in several municipalities in the province of Zamora (Castilla y León), Spain. This fire mainly affects the municipalities of Ferreras de Arriba, Riofrío de Aliste and Ferreras de Abajo. Due to adverse weather conditions the fire may be active for several days and affect more areas. To date the fire has burned more than 900 hectares, currently the weather conditions are very adverse; high temperatures, strong winds and low humidity. Spain is currently immersed in a heat wave since Sunday the 12th of June which will end the 19th of June. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide a First Estimate, Delineation and Grading products. The fire has burned more than 900 hectares, currently the weather conditions are very adverse; high temperatures, strong winds and low humidity. Spain is currently immersed in a heat wave since last sunday the 12th which will end the 19th of june.
