The Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO) has issue a red weather alert on 4 August at 02:00 due to severe weather characterized by heavy rain has been affecting western, northern, eastern and central parts of the country, causing severe flooding and landslides. Some areas are inaccessible, necessary evacuations of residents are taking place along Drava, Sava and Sora rivers. The situation is foreseen to improve as of tomorrow afternoon. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping is requested to provide initial rough estimation, flood extent, monitoring of the event and damage assessment for the emergency mapping.
