As of 2 January, several forest fires devastate northern Corsica, affected by the storm Eleanor and its strong winds. More than 1 500 hectares have been already burned. Six fires were active on 4 January while terrestrial and aerial firefighting means have been engaged in order to extinguish it in the most effective way.
