Event type: Wildfire (Forest fire)
Activation reason:
On 21 July 2022, a large forest fire broke out on the Island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). The fire mainly affects the municipalities of Los Realejos, San Juan de la Rambla, La Guancha and Icod de los Vinos in the north of the island. The Corona Forestal Natural Park near the Teide National Park is affected as well. Due to the adverse weather conditions, the fire has been active for several days. Given the high natural value of the area, it would be important to know the degree of damage.
