Flooding events took place in South East Queensland earlier this year which resulted in loss of life and property. This week, a weather event has returned bringing large amounts of rain. Due to soil moisture levels there is expected to be flooding in several areas. There has already been one fatality due to flood waters. Several communities, some of whom were already affected earlier this year, are expected to be inundated. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping has been requested by Emergency Management Australia and states to assist with situational awareness and impact analysis by providing daily delineation monitoring products.
