This CEMS Risk and Recovery Standard activation has been requested to provide damage delineation and grading product over La Rioja region in Spain, which was affected by forest fire events on 18th July 2021. The fires started in the afternoon and were extinguished on the 19th July.During the event, forest fires affected natural areas in the region of La Rioja, in North Eastern Spain. It is estimated that more than 200 hectares of wooden areas have burned between the Rioja municipalities of Villarroya, Quel and Autol, but it was managed to save Mount Yerga in Autol and the protected area of the Carrascal de Villarroya. Local news (https://www.publico.es/sociedad/incendio-rioja-incendio-monte-yerga-rioja-sigue-activo-controlar.html) reported that no inhabited areas were in danger.
