Event time (UTC): 2012-10-01 00:00:00

Event type: Other

Activation reason:

Following the violence that broke out in Rakhine in October 2012, UN OCHA has been facing difficulties estimating the people affected by the conflict and identify shelters and boundaries of camps of displaced people as well as progress in relief installation construction. Having these satellite maps, safe locations and routes for evacuations in case of severe storms and cyclones will be easier identified. Thus, on a request of UN OCHA, ERC has activated Copernicus Emergency Management Service.
