A number of Datasets were developed by and used by MAPPE. The published ones are the latest version and presently there is no ongoing development.
Currently the datasets are available only for the European scale. Global scale datasets will be soon published. Both European and Global datasets are documented in two reports for the European and Global scale respectively:
1. Pistocchi, A., Vizcaino, M.P., Pennington, D.W., Analysis of Landscape and Climate Parameters for Continental Scale Assessment of the Fate of Pollutants EUR 22624 EN ISSN: 1018-5593 ISBN: 978-92-79-04809-8. Luxembourg: Office for Official Publications of the European Communities, 2007
2. Zulian, G., Isoardi, P., Pistocchi, A., Global Atlas of Environmental Parameters for Chemical Fate and Transport Assessment. Publications Office of the European Union, 2010. MAPPE datasets were developed for the EU project EURO-FRESHWATER.
The MAPPE model logics are described in these two reports :

The model is a collection of ArcGIS raster calculations, originally implemented in VBA for ArcGIS 9.x; as this environment is obsolete, the author recommends to develop the calculations anew just by picking the syntax from the reports. Anyway, the value of the work is in the data and concept more than in the original scripts. In order to facilitate running calculations, all formulas for the European scale version are in a \0022formulas.cfg\0022 file (search either in the catalogue within the project MAPPE the "Formula" Dataset, or in the FTP folder under \MAPPE\MAPPE_Europe\LATEST the file "formula.cfg").
Finally, also an Excel workbook with a list of chemicals and associated physic-chemical properties that can be used as a starting point for calculations is provided, (search either in the catalogue within the project MAPPE the "chemicals" dataset or in the FTP folder under \MAPPE\MAPPE_Europe\LATEST the file "chemicals.xls).
