The collection consists of datasets compiling information on the algae industry in Europe, including macroalgae, microalgae and the cyanobacteria Spirulina. The collection is comprised by datasets covering the producing enterprises in Europe, the location of the production facilities, the production systems as well as socioeconomic indicators of the algae industry along the entire value chain. The ALGAE-industry collection aims to build a reliable database to characterise the algae sector in Europe to support informed European policies on blue growth and the bioeconomy.
