EUROCAT Data

Collection: EUROCAT : JRC-EUROCAT Central Registry

Description

The JRC-EUROCAT Central Registry publishes data on surveillance of congenital anomalies in Europe, derived from information provided by registries affiliated to the EUROCAT network. Data are publicly accessible on the EUROCAT website. The website permits the exploration of geographical patterns and temporal trends in prevalence of 104 congenital anomaly subgroups. Prevalence is displayed by registry, birth year(s) and pregnancy outcomes (live births, still births and terminations of pregnancy). Prenatal detection rates for 18 selected subgroups of congenital anomalies are also presented, with the overall proportion of cases prenatally diagnosed, as well as the percentage by pregnancy outcome, by gestational age at discovery, by maternal aged and by indication for prenatal diagnosis. Prevalence and prenatal detection rates are updated twice a year. A set of public health indicators related to perinatal mortality associated with congenital anomalies is also available on the website, and updated every 5 years.
