Activation reason:
During October 2017, numerous Forest Fires affected Spain, especially in the central areas. The government of the Castilla y León region triggered the Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping Service for the production of delineation and grading maps over the affected areas in order to assess the damages in the areas of interest that are of great ecological value.

Copernicus Emergency Management Service - Mapping is a service funded by European Commission aimed at providing actors in the management of natural and man-made disasters, in particular Civil Protection Authorities and Humanitarian Aid actors, with mapping products based on satellite imagery.
