The scope of the service request is to assess changes in ground subsidence rates between 2014 and 2021 in the area situated in the Philippine’s National Capital Region and adjacent provinces.The understanding of ground subsidence in this area could be helpful to address its effects on climate change adaptation measures and their effectiveness. Satellite-based methods have been used to estimate and map changes in ground subsidence, and they were recently successfully used and documented by CEMS Risk and Recovery Mapping in services EMSN057 and EMSN062. Radar satellite-based methods, specifically using Sentinel-1, will be used to observe ground subsidence rates in the area of interest over time.
