Activation reason:
A forest fire broke out on July 04 in Evia Island, 70 Km North-Northeast from Athens. Residents of
the villages of Makrichori, Neochori, Dafni, Gavalas and Lofiskos have been relocated as a
preventative measure. According to Fire Service 46 personnel with 36 vehicles, plus 30 hand crew
firefighters and 8 volunteers, plus 7 firefighting airplanes and 4 firefighting helicopters, are
involved in the operation to bring the fire under control.
