Activation reason:
On August 1, 2020 Sardinia was affected by several fires, including one in the countryside of Bonorva which lasted for three consecutive days. Several ground teams of the Forestry and Environmental Supervision Corps, Fire Brigade and Voluntary Organizations were deployed and three Canadair and four regional helicopters were needed to deal with the fire. The fire affected a large area estimated at about 3000 hectares.
