Recent heavy rains in eastern part of Europe have affected the western part of Ukraine and are considered as the heaviest flooding in Ukraine in the last 50 years, exceeding those of 2008. Flooding has affected the western region of Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia and Lviv after heavy rainfall 22 to 23 June. Many damages have been reported including breached dams and stranded villagers.
