Activation reason:
On 13/08/2019 a forest fire broke out in Evia Island, 70 km North-Northeast from Athens. Residents of the villages of Makrimalli, Kondodespoti, Stavros and Platanias have been relocated as a preventative measure. According to Fire Service, 227 personnel with 75 vehicles, 7 hand crew fire-fighters groups, 6 fire fighting airplanes and 5 firefighting helicopters are involved in the operation to bring the fire under control. Furthermore, there has been an official request for international assistance through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
