Title: EFAS deterministic flood forecasts

This data set composes of two separate layers, each showing a deterministic flood forecast on a pan-European scale, one based on the deterministic meteorological forecast of the ECMWF and the other one on the deterministic forecast of the DWD. Each layer includes specifications on the expected flood magnitude in terms of exceedance of different threshold levels (EFAS 2-, 5-, and 20-year return period).

This information is produced by the operational EFAS ( in order to provide the EFAS partners with a more detailed insight into the different forecasts and thresholds.

The update frequency of this data set is twice a day (00:00 and 12:00 UTC); and the spatial coverage is the extended geographic Europe, while the spatial resolution is 5 x 5 km.
