Description
Goal: study the reaction of H2O ice overlayers with UThOx under light and in the dark. Implementation: Thin films of UThOx
were prepared by codeposition from Th and U target on a Al foil substrate. The U/Th ratios are indicated in the labbook (approximate value,but close to reality - should be rechecked. Preparation was done in the Omicron instrument. Samples were then transferred for further study (oxidation, ice adsorption and reaction) to the hot machine.
Ice adsorption/Desorption was tested. Unfortunately oxidation with atomic O was not successful (problem with O source). However the latest film for heII.100 on was oxidized (preparaed at high O2 pressure in Omicron machine) and was clearly reduced after ice adsorption/desorption.
