Description

The dataset contains the radon exhalation rate in mBq/m2/s from soil measured nearby the European Commission Atmospheric Observatory. The estimation is based on measuring the radon activity concentration emanating from the surface and accumulated in a container of a known volume for a known duration (according to ISO 11665-7:2012). The measurements are performed with an ionization chamber (Alphaguard) coupled with an accumulation box and a pump that let the air flux from the box into the chamber. The surveys are performed once a week in order to study the seasonal variability of radon exhalation rate during the year. Radon exhalation rates are complemented with measurements of soil water content and soil temperature.
