Activation reason:
A destructive flood struck Sulaymaniyyah District in the Kurdish region of Iraq, due to intense rainfall. This area is particularly sensitive to floods because large and densely built-up areas exist in a floodplain located at the food of a large (70 Kmq) catchment. In the last year thousand of people were affected by floods after very intense rainfall.
