On 10/08/2019, a fire started in the Municipality of Artenara, which is in the western part of Gran Canaria Island. As a consequence of this fire, hundreds of people have been forced to evacuate their homes. The municipalities of Tejeda, Artenara and Gáldar are among the villages where people were told to leave their homes.
